Teja is a biology teacher by her Bachelor of science degree, but her broad understanding of science comes from continuing her studies at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, where she was awarded a Master of research degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Working in different research institutes in Slovenia, Italy and United Kingdom, focusing on cancer prevention vaccines and treatments, she gained valuable knowledge in how the research world works and obtained a first-hand experience in conducting scientific experiments and project management. In the time working in research she started to nurture her passion for explaining science to lay audiences and focused on developing curricula for teaching science to primary school children. Teja is also enthusiastic female entrepreneur managing her 2 companies and 6 STEM related Erasmus+ projects.
